It is my concern to put my capabilities and talents in the service of the community. Moreover, I firmly believe that we have to enjoy our lives because it is most probably the only one we have. I try to serve our society by engaging oneself in sports, previously in youth work and in politics.
For over 20 years, I am the judo coach at the Shin Do Kan Birseck (formerly SC Shin Do Kan) located in Dornach (formerly Reinach BL). In the Shin Do Kan Birseck, I regularly give judo lessons for kids and youths between the ages of 6 and 18 years, as well as adult classes. Besides, I am president and a long-time board member.
Between 2007 and 2023, I was serving the community of the district Dorneckberg as director and head of a youth centre called Jugendhaus Dorneckberg JUHU.
Between 2005 and 2009, I was a municipal council at the municipality of Gempen where I was the head of the education department.
During the Swiss civilian service, I served in social institutions and supporting people with mental disabilities.
As president of Shin Do Kan Birseck, I oversee the strategic development of the club and its activities. The entire organisation is run on a voluntary basis, with coaches and board members contributing their time and energy to support the community. My focus is on fostering an environment where children, youth, and adults can grow through judo – not only as a sport, but also as a practice of respect, discipline, and resilience.
